The Military BDU Camouflage Uniform is a camouflaged combat uniform that was used by the United States Armed Forces as their standard combat uniform from the early 1980s to the mid-2000s. Since then, it has been replaced or supplanted in every branch of the U.S. Armed Forces.
The Universal Urban Camouflage Pattern (UCP, also known as ACUPAT or “digicam”) is a digital military camouflage pattern formerly used by the United States Army in their Army Combat Uniform (ACU). It was developed as a “universal camouflage” that works equally well in all environments regardless desert, woodland/jungle or urban, which would remove the need to issue specialized camo clothing for soldiers deployed to different geographical areas.
Being composed of a slate gray, desert sand and foliage green pixel pattern, which becomes darker or lighter depending on exposure to sunlight. Its pixelated pattern is similar to the MARPAT and CADPAT camouflage patterns used by the United States Marine Corps and the Canadians, respectively.
